San Bernardino Mountain Rental

New Opportunities

The San Bernardino Mountains are a treasure to Southern California. While much of the southland is a desert environment, the mountains provide a change of scenery and new opportunities. When you explore the San Bernardino Mountains, you get a chance to see a side of Southern California that isn't often experienced.

Wilderness Areas

For one, the pine forests of the mountains are a unique biome and are home to many plants and animals not found elsewhere in Southern California. Because of this, the federal government has protected much of the forests here, and San Bernardino National Forest contains more than 800,000 acres of forest--including five wilderness areas.

Natural Treasure

That's not to say that the San Bernardino Mountains are simply wild. On the contrary, the areas that have seen development--like the one around the Big Bear Lake area--provide access points to this precious natural treasure. Tourists come each year to enjoy the hiking, skiing, and water sports that they can't find in other parts of the southland.
