Bear Valley Bikes is the authority in Big Bear for mountain biking. They're the only full service bike shop around. They also sponsor local racers and the owner, Derek, is a racer too. Here you can rent bikes for exploring Big Bear's bounty of roads and trails, and even though Big Bear is known as a center for mountain biking, there's also large opportunity for road biking.
